Flags Tab (Pro, Std, Lite)
This is where you can control how tag name programs function.
Options
- Enable programs - Check this box to enable the tag name program feature of HTML Validator. Disabling this feature will speed up validation but may significantly reduce the number of problems that are searched for in your validated documents. To obtain the best syntax checking possible, it is recommended that you leave this option enabled at all times, which is the default. (New v3.00)
Program Flags
- Flags - Check and uncheck these flags to enable or disable tag name program flags that are used in tag name programs. This allows a tag name program to be written so that certain behaviors of the tag name program can be instantly changed by checking or unchecking a flag. For instance, tag name programs can be written to warn users about using tags that may only work in certain browsers. If you do not want to see these warnings, a tag name program can be written so that the warnings will not be generated if a certain flag is unchecked. In this case, you can easily enable or disable these warnings by unchecking the appropriate flag or flags. The default is all flags checked (set). For information about what these flags affect with the included (default) configuration, please see the Configuration Page. (Flags 1-10 are new to v3.00, flags 11-20 are new to v3.04, flags 21-60 are new to v4.00, v5.02 supports 180 flags)
